Cupping Benefits
The Art of Cupping

Cupping Works!!
The picture above depicts a ongoing patient of mine who presents with chronic back pain and tightness.
The patient reports the T12 area is most painful due to a injury/ trauma at this site. The picture shows although this patient’s entire back is tight and clearly shows blood stagnation due to the tight muscles, the key location, as shown by the cupping, is at T12. The extremely dark circle at T12 indicates and verifies this patients complaint of T12 being most painful. The cups are very accurate and will always pick out the most stagnant, tight and painful areas indicated by the degree of darkness presented through each circle.
Cupping involves placing cups on the skin to create a suction or vacuum effect. Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This relieves muscle tension, which improves overall blood and oxygen flow and promotes cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.
The suction created facilitates healing by increasing blood flow and resolves blood stagnation. Stagnation is a primary cause of illness according to traditional Chinese medicine. The knots and tightness you feel in your muscles are due to muscle, tissue and even organ stagnation which thereby also creates blood stagnation. Stagnation is a major cause of pain, tension and disease.
The dark circles created from the cupping have a direct association with the degree of blockage and stagnation in the muscle and tissue directly below the cup.
Basically, the darker the circle the worse the problem at that site.
The suction helps to facilitate the flow of Qi and blood in the body confirming the saying “pain goes when the energy flows”. Have you been cupped lately?
