Mediation Made Simple
Mediation Made Simple
MEDITATION BASICS
The practice of meditation is actually very simple. Anyone can meditate and the beauty of it is, you can meditate anywhere, any time! The key is to follow your breath, relax your jaw and allow yourself to breathe as deeply as possible without forcing it, allowing the lower belly to expand. It’s generally always best to slowly inhale through the nose and then exhale again through the nose or gently through the mouth.
We all have stress, worries, are afraid and anxious about many things in life. The problem is approximately 90% of what we think and worry about is mental projection, never comes to pass and is just our thoughts and emotions playing tricks on us and our minds! Imagine that approximately only 10% of what we think about is reality and truth! Let’s try to train that 90% of clutter.
When you meditate, you are giving your mind a job to stay “clear” like the Blue Sky. As you follow your breath thoughts will randomly appear in your mind, just like clouds in the sky, and the idea is to just breathe through those clouds “thoughts” and to not attach onto them, therefore avoiding getting wrapped up in more stress, stories, projection and untruths!
We perpetuate our own stress and anxiety with our untamed mind and unruly thoughts. Gradually as the mind becomes more and more familiar with its job of staying open and clear, a natural and powerful transformational peace occurs that transfers into our daily life and daily well being.
Mediation is the best way to train, calm and get control of what the Masters call our “monkey mind!”
Remember: There’s no right or wrong in meditation. Just breathe. Try not to attach onto and get wrapped up in your thoughts. Thoughts will come and go, just exhale through them aiming to keep your mind like a clear blue sky. Mediation is user friendly and should be applicable in our daily lives. It’s not just something that needs to happen in a dark room for 20 minutes twice a week. Even 10 to 30 seconds of practicing the “sky like mind” technique can help you with any task or moment in your life. Give it a try! Just Breathe……
